Valheim gets more teasers of The Mistlands

By -

Iron Gate assure us it's coming but they're not quite ready to set a date for The Mistlands update to Valheim. So we don't have a date but we do have some more info, plus some extra screenshots.

They mentioned how they're tweaking progression for Mistlands, to ensure it feels rewarding. They've put plenty of work into making some creepy cave dungeons but they needed a real purpose. So now they've added a "special extractor item" that you will use to process a new Black Core but they won't say what it's for yet.

If you make a new character, there's also going to be some new hairstyle options too:

And of course there's going to be some fancy new outfits to go along with it all too:

Valheim is available to buy on Humble Store or Steam.

A buddy and me started new world. Only to build a nice new base and keep discovery close to base. Once that big update goes live, exploring galore!

Same. I've been exploring out around my base but only a short distance. I put so much into this base I don't want to start a new world!

I really hope they will implement workshop mods sooner rather than later. 1) Gives us proper Linux support. 2) using mod managers to keep that all up to date is annoying.

I hope they spend some time on improving performance... Considering the graphical fidelity, the game is a bit "power hungry".

This. There's better looking games that run a lot smoother than Valheim on my tired old laptop.

Same thing. New world, but using the seed from the very first server.
We didn't have to explore much to get all the bosses.

Using that as a template so that when Mistland drops, we can go nuts.

(and this map has Silver Mountain. heh. Moder on it, and 26 silver nodes)
:)

Just did Bonemass last night,

Looking forward to the expansion... :)

Yeah, I play it on an AMD Ryzen 9 3950X, 32 GB RAM, RX 6700 XT and 5120x1440 screen, and I guess it's mainly the resolution that drags down the FPS to below 60. That's quite many pixels to push.
A "positive" note though is that the Linux performance matches the Windows one, both for OpenGL and Vulkan.

I somehow feel that I need a 5120x1440 monitor... but can't justify it until my 3840x1200 monitor dies...
