Now that the Steam Deck is available without reservation, and the official Steam Deck Docking Station has released, it appears a lot of people were waiting on Valve for docking.

As of writing this, on the Global Top Sellers list, the Steam Deck Docking Station is currently at number 5, showing that quite a lot of people are buying it when you take into account that it's up against big hitters like FIFA 23 (and the price difference there is reasonably small too).

Only a few days ago, it was sat at the number 2 spot so while it's not selling as much a few days later, it's clearly holding some ground so a lot of people are buying it.

My own official Steam Deck Docking Station should arrive Friday, so I'll be letting you know when I think about it during next week after I've had some quality time with it.

Have you picked one up or are you going with something like JSAUX or ivoler?

It's just a dock. For the deck. To have a docked deck on your desk.

I am waiting for my official Docking Station to arrive. While I already have an Anker dock, it wasn't designed specifically for Steam Deck, and it's not very comfortable to use.
I think that having a good user experience when docked is very important as some games (especially strategy games) aren't easy to play on Deck's small screen. I've recently purchased Humankind after the free weekend, and I'm looking forward to playing it on my external monitor.

I'm getting the Valve dock as well. Seems worth the extra for the "extra" and to support them.

Edit: ordered

Mine is coming tomorrow as well. I'm primarily going to set it up on my desktop for installs, setup and tinkering with desktop mode. I'll occasionally hook it up to our 50" 4K TV for gaming.

Can I hook up two controllers via Bluetooth?

Mine should, according to GLS, have arrived yesterday, but the tracking is not advancing for days, so it'll be next week i guess. I had my fair share of problems with other solutions and none of them were really good. Many problems seem to come from voltage regulators being designed for 20V and starving on anything lower, making external SSDs or HDDs nearly impossible to use unless you feed in external power somehow.
Some do get too hot, like the Digitus DA-70896 dock i tested that had an integrated M.2 SSD slot and cooked the SSD into emergency shutdown regularly.
If you don't want to run into the same problems, look for reviewers using MS Surface or smaller Macbooks that also use 15V like the deck. My best experience so far was an Argus GDC-802, that has none of these problems, but is limited to 4K30Hz, which isn't really an option for me aside from travelling.
After all these failures, i am really looking forward to the official dock, considering the price includes shipping and a power supply is not that expensive compared to similarly feature rich other options.

My official dock arrived on Friday and was immediately set up in the living room to use my Steam deck as a Stadia replacement. Works great and was ready to use after 10 minutes, including firmware update.

I have also published a post about it in the forum:

Only two problems I see with the Valve Dock. It's not as wide as the Jsaux one (but it's still very sturdy, just need to center the deck on it a bit more than you'd need to on the jsaux one) and it absolutely will not work with the dbrand Killswitch case (the slot is too thin, and the USB-C cable won't fit into the port while the case is on.)

Will the Killswitch case and USB-C port fit on the JSAUX docking?

The Killswitch works fine with the JSAUX dock. The slot is deep enough and opens outward so the case will sit up above it, but it still holds it in place pretty well.

But since GoL doesn't seem to have the ability to just directly post images, I will have to put pictures up somewhere...
