Remember the days of the original green Steam client, that no one particularly liked? Hard to believe that it now sees over 30 million people online.

This huge new record was hit yesterday, with the new all-time peak according to the Steam Charts page at 30,027,003. However, SteamDB lists it as 30,032,005. During this time the top games were Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, PUBG: Battlegrounds, Apex Legends and Lost Ark. So three out of the top five when Steam was at its peak work on Linux officially — not bad. About 8.5 million people were actually in-game at the time.

While I have you here: what have you been playing recently, what's your current top game on Linux? I've been sucked in really hard by Brotato, trying out all the different characters and weapons has been a lot of fun.

A great mix of Cyberpunk 2077, Skyrim VR, Minecraft, Ultrakill and Legion TD 2.

A Plague Tale: Requiem

Beautiful looking game, that runs pretty good, despite many complaining about performance. Needs Proton Experimental though.

...and to imagine that this entity is strongly for and behind Linux

In order... Horizon Zero Dawn, All 3 Tomb Raiders, CP2077 and right now God of War. All are a great experience on Steam Deck.

Just playing the most famous Inventory Management Simulator, aka Resident Evil.

Before that I have been playing ECHO. Not a perfect game (it's getting a bit repetitive), but it manages to drag you in with its superb graphics, sound, and atmosphere.

Steam bah! A glorified Half-Life 2 launcher, a mere passing fad.

Currently playing VirtuaVerse (from GOG)

I'm currently playing whatever I bought on Stadia, before it shuts down. 33% through RDR2 and 10% through Cyberpunk. The latter, I heard, has progress transferable to Steam, but Red Dead probably not.

Can't be. PC gaming is dead, didn't you know?

I've gone back to Stellaris, trying out a Devouring Swarm. Kind of silly--just when they've bumped up diplomacy I'm playing a scourge that responds to diplomacy with "We Hunger". And for breaks between other stuff, some Urtuk: The Desolation.

I am sucked in by Satellite Reign - with much more success than my first tries years ago.
