Just before the weekend hit, a new development release of the Windows compatibility layer Wine went up with version 7.19. This is part of Steam Play Proton, which allows you to play tons of Windows games on Steam Deck and Linux desktops. Once a year they make a big new stable release, and eventually Proton updates to it too.

Release highlights for Wine 7.19:

  • Support for storing DOS attributes on disk.
  • Bundled vkd3d upgraded to version 1.5.
  • Support for MPEG-4 audio format.
  • Various bug fixes.

17 bugs this time were noted to be solved including fixes for: Resident Evil Revelations 2; Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Kheops Studio adventure games, Sonic Adventure DX and various other miscellaneous bug fixes.

Want help managing Wine installs? I usually use the Bottles app, which makes it pretty easy.

This wine version have some interesting things like some wmv playback like ultimate marvel vs capcom 3, resident evil revelations 2 and maybe others

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50269

Another case of cinematics maybe can be resident evil hd remaster because in my case, in before versions need some wmv dlls in game folder but now cinematics works ok without any wmv dlls in game folder

Almost forget now stay using wine staging (around july of this year, since that time stay using only intel igp aka uhd 630, waiting for arc A310 soon™) only since occur horrible accident with my main wine 32bit prefix (most games stay here) but thanks to this can reinstall my system with staging only and dont use wine tricks
