Want to win a Steam Deck? Valve directly are giving you quite a few chances, with a whole bunch of them being given away during The Game Awards.
Taking place on December 8th at 5PM PST / 1AM UTC (according to the Steam page) all you have to do is watch it on Steam.tv, live in either US / Canada / UK or the EU and have made a purchase on Steam between November 14, 2021 and November 14, 2022 to have your country verified. Oh, and of course have a Steam account that's in good standing and not limited from being naughty.
As the show airs, every minute a random name will be pulled from people watching it who will win one 512GB Steam Deck. Considering it goes on for quite some time (multiple hours), that's going to be a lot of winners.
There will also be a big sale, along with playable demos for the event.
Do note that the pre-show starts 30 minutes earlier, but the main show (and giveaway) starts at the time noted above.
To sweeten the deal, everyone who registers for it will get an animated Steam Pal digital sticker:

I hear it's going to be really boring. I'd recommend that nobody watch. I'll watch and let you know how it goes.
Wait a minute...

Ya know, I too heard that exact same thing… I second your recommendation!

You know, I think if Valve put actual marketing dollars behind the Deck, get flashy ads on TV and whatnot, it could absolutely be a smash hit. At first I was fairly certain it was going to be a niche thing like my RPi handheld, but with how cleanly it fits into my lifestyle this thing really got potential mass appeal, its versatility gives it potential appeal to everyone, even a coworker of mine who barely games is considering buying it instead of a new laptop. This could be the next step for console gaming, not the portability but the versatility, it's not enough for a console to just play games anymore, much like how at one point, it wasn't enough for phones to just make call.
Unfortunately your region is not eligible for registration in the giveaway, but you can still claim the Steam Pal digital sticker. At least I got a sticker I will never use.......

Is it yet another sticker I can never get rid of again?
I hate those!
Want my pocket clean (as clean as it gets)!

Hey! I tell you how it really goes! For those who win "steam deck" or or they think they have won will have a nice surprise when the post man Gabe arrives. He gives you old 386SX computer or if you are lucky, Pentium straight from Gabe Newell's basement! They have been gathering dust there and and this is an oppurtunity for Newell to get rid of them!So the end users must dig archives to install, surprise:windows 95!Why? because it's the only OS which supports properly older computer architecture. Which also means that Linux share in Valve's statistics will see a steep decline! What a happy story for linuxers! eh a joke...
