Game store itch.io has their own big Winter Sale now on, where you can save big and support one of the smaller stores along with plenty of indie games.

You won't find the likes of Crysis or Spider-Man on there but you will find a lot of really unique experiences. It's always worth a look to find a next favourite. I even personally curate a list of what I believe are some of the Best Linux Games on itch.io.

After some recommendations? Well, I've used my Mark I Eyeball and searched high and low and come up with a list of great titles that are discounted to look at:

  • The Hex - 80% off - From the creator of Pony Island. A clever adventure with multiple stories going on.
  • Hidden Folks - 75% off - An absolute gem of a hidden object game a bit like an interactive Where's Wally?
  • A Good Snowman Is Hard To Build - 75% off - An interesting puzzle game about rolling snowballs.
  • Spiritfarer - 75% off - A cozy management sim about dying.
  • Lucah: Born of a Dream - 70% off - An action-focused game with really wild visuals.
  • MidBoss - 75% off - Ever played a true roguelike where you posses the bodies of dead enemies? No? Try it.
  • The Away Team - 60% off - A sci-fi interactive adventure novel.
  • Scarlet Hollow - 20% off - A thoroughly interesting horror visual novel that blends in elements of dating and a few RPG traits too. A big branching narrative not to be missed.

Be sure to give your own recommendations in the comments.

Their sale lasts until 5th of January at 10am PT / 6pm UTC.

I wish more developers released an Itch.io copy purely for the sake of DRM.

Will be dipping into my wishlist for this even though I’ll gladly pay full price for an indie studio game.
