Seems like the upcoming Steam release of The Last of Us Part I should work well on Steam Deck, as not only are Valve already teasing it, the Co-President of developer Naughty Dog talked about it too.
On the Valve side, a keen eye might spot a short clip of it on the official Steam Deck website. Look for a friendly Giraffe, but to help you along it's here:
Showing it off like that, even just as a brief teaser shows Valve clearly have confidence in it which makes me happy. It's still to this day one of my favourite single-player story experiences. If you missed the Steam release announcement, I noted it in my The Game Awards 2022 round-up and there's a lot of good stuff coming.
On top of that, Neil Druckmann the Co-President of Naughty Dog said on Twitter "Ellie and Joel will grace the Steam Deck… don’t worry!". Sounds like it's a first-party port for Windows too (the Steam Deck runs it through Proton), with Naughty Dog doing it directly.
Exciting times!

Quoting: StalePopcornI don't usually condone it, but I might go ahead and pre-purchase this one! It was such a damned good game!A lot of people hate pre-orders and such, but I use it as a helpful form of budgeting so I know I'll have the game at release. I get why people hate it though, there's too many games that stick too many extras in pre-orders to force people to buy early and make their numbers look good.
One of the bundled games was The Last Of Us, which I started playing having not heard anything about it.
Man! some games just really stick with you and this is definitely one of them.
Is this... Linux gaming? Can't say it hasn't been a long time coming, but good grief, it's unrecognisable from where we were just five years ago.
Quoting: itscalledrealityStill waiting on Bloodborne….I believe that has some serious showstopper, such as issues on remastering it or issues on setting the multiplayer in place.

(By the way, I briefly owned a PS4; during which period I did play this game. It's a good game, though in its heyday it's had its share of ridiculous hype. One recommendation I might have is to play it on difficult (not the hardest, but one level below that) & turn off 'detective vision' [what did you expect? It's the most fundamental obligation for games to fulfill]; otherwise it might get a bit repetitive.)
GREAT NEWS btw
As for pre-orders, the only time I will pre-order something is if I get access to alpha/beta. Maybe the day before release if there's a pre-order bonus I want. Otherwise I don't trust that the game isn't going to be vapourware or delayed multiple times etc.

Why waste the best single player game in 10 years by playing the craptastic multi player
Quoting: whizseOh poo a PC port! I was using this game as an excuse to save up to a new CPU for RPCS3 :(
Yeah, but you seem to be very good at inventing excuses; I'm sure you'll find something else.
