Two updates for the Steam Deck today as Valve has not only put out another Steam Deck Client Beta, they're also finally trying to make the actual Steam store better on Steam Deck.
For the store, there's been so many issues I've lost count. From losing where you are, to various bits of it just not working right and browsing Steam on it has been a nuisance.
Valve has now done some work to resolve these issues server-side, meaning no download needed. On Twitter, they said: "Hello! We’ve just shipped a quality of life update to the Store experience on Steam Deck (mostly around focus and navigation). This is a server side update, so you won’t need to do a software update to see these improvements.
Thanks for all your feedback and keep it coming!"
Additionally, here's what's in the December 12 Steam Deck Client Beta:
General
- Fixed keyboard re-opening incorrectly on game exit
- Added support for the Armor-X Pro gamepad in PS4 mode
- Fixed long delay at startup when the Razer Huntsman Elite keyboard is plugged in
- Fixed the Logitech G29 controller showing up as a gamepad instead of a wheel
Desktop Mode
- Fixed overlay scaling when resizing game window in new Big Picture Mode
- Fixed crash when taking screenshots through the overlay
These changes are in the Beta and Preview update channels.
Gosh, that bug was really upsetting. Happy to see it gone!
