During The Game Awards 2022, Valve were giving away a Steam Deck every minute and it seems they loved throwing hardware at people so much they just did it again.
As the show aired on Steam, below the video (if you didn't have it full screen), it was showing the usernames people set. This — caused some hilarity, with a certain "Milf Hunter" becoming the source of much amusement during the event. No doubt this image and memory will reach some sort of legendary status among Steam users. Where were you when Valve announced Milf Hunter won a Steam Deck on their store huh?
Anyway, the official OnDeck Twitter account posted:
Hello! The team was so blown away by the overwhelming response to the @thegameawards event that we've decided to give away another round of Steam Decks! We just drew 171 more names from all the registrants who tuned in (over 980,000 of you!). Check your email to see if you won!
So you might want to have a quick look to see if you just got a shiny present from Valve.

Well, at least this one doesn't involve having to watch 3.5 hours of what's clearly the Dorito Pope's childhood imaginings of what a legitimate gaming awards-ceremony would look like, made real now he has the money to do so.

!linkYou're missing an aging Al Pacino on stage opening the show by saying that he doesn't play video games, and then giving an award to someone who (though talented and absolutely deserving) openly admitted that they might not have auditioned if they'd known it was for a video game.

Really wish some of them would grow a brain and stop blaming us for everything that's wrong when we were fighting the same fight they are........
I'm not fully sure what you're talking about, but... The youth absolutely should do some things better than we (well, I was thirty when you were young :D ) did, and we shouldn't see that as an affront. Optimally, we did our best and they do their best - on our shoulders.

I missed Milf Hunter’s win, but I did see one winner who had his Twitch URL as his username and I went to check it out of curiosity. He wasn’t even streaming but his chat was flooded for a long time with all kinds of lulz, obscenity, link spam and ASCII porn. Good for him if he got some new followers as well as a Deck, his marketing strategy paid off

When I finally managed to load the livechat (never got to see the actual stream), the Milf Hunter win-message was the first thing I´ve got to see... so yes: I was there when the legend was born!
