The community-built version of Proton, the Windows compatibility layer, GE-Proton 7-44 is out now and here's what's new. As a reminder: this version is not endorsed by Valve, and doesn't have all the testing that the official Proton does, and so sometimes new releases can come with issues.
From the release notes here's what's changed:
- wine: updated to latest bleeding edge (includes alt+tab fix)
- wine-staging: rebased for latest proton-wine bleeding edge
- dxvk: updated to latest git (includes HDR patches)
- vkd3d-proton: updated to latest git (includes HDR patches)
- proton: import upstream changes (includes prefix sync revert/fix)
- protonfixes: add workaround for pentiment launch failure (thanks tgurr)
- protonfixes: add multiplayer fix for stronghold hd/stronghold crusader hd/ stronghold crusader extreme hd (thanks jopejoe1)
- protonfixes: add framerate fix for Battle Fantia Revised Edition (thanks ranplayer)
- protonfixes: add launcher workaround for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (thanks ranplayer)

Cool. I've definitely needed to use Glorious Eggroll's custom "roll" of Proton to run some games in the past. I also hope this HDR work pans out for the entire Linux landscape—imagine another year like 2022 for Linux and Linux Gaming?

I don't think I've had to use one of Glorious Eggroll's Proton versions, but I love that they're putting them out there.

Did anyone get HDR working with this one?|
If yes, do you need to enable a variable or something?

Just about 10 hours after GE-Proton 7-44 Glorious Eggroll released GE-Proton 7-45. :). And changes looks pretty big - dxvk-async is now deprecated and changed to a new GraphicsPipelineLibrary (GPL) from upstream DXVK.
Driver support for AMD/RADV "is an ongoing WIP", but apparently old dxvk-async was causing problems for some time already...

Well you need a patched kernel so its a pain to get working. I got it working by using Nobara 37, and their own gamescope-session, but its pretty buggy and HDR does not work with every game. And being used to Holoiso, Nobara is so slow.

I was able to run patched MPV in console and have 'HDR' enabled on my monitor.(I am gentoo nerd)
I suspect I have what it takes for HDR?
Is gamescope a requirement? I thought that Proton is all needed?
Can i see links you used?
