More goodies coming to the Steam Deck and Steam Desktop Beta, as Valve sure do like to work quickly to solve bugs and add features. Once again a lot is shared between the two but there are some differences.
General
- Fixed onscreen keyboard not visible in-game when opened with gamepad
Steam Input
- Gyro Calibration UI: Gyro rotation readings are displayed to help diagnose drift issues.
- Autocalibration of Gyro Drift has been reworked. After the initial calibration, setting down a controller on a stable surface silently recalculates drift compensation within a few seconds. Movement Threshold values can be manually tweaked - useful if you notice drift re-appear when the controller is in hand.
Steam Deck Desktop / New Big Picture Mode / Overlay
- Fixed Steam Chat window scaling
- Fixed onscreen keyboard windows refusing to close
- Fixed regression where some Remote Play Together dialogs no longer worked
Just for Linux desktop, Valve also solved this issue:
- Fixed keyboard input to Steam menus on Linux
Desktop changelog / Steam Deck changelog.
What are you current most wanted fixes?
For me, I really want them to figure out what's causing the New Big Picture Mode to perform so poorly on Linux. It's pretty much unusable with NVIDIA.

I hope they improve the security around steam link. Steam link is amazing and if you're not using it on your deck, you should be. However, currently there is major room for improvement. For instance, currently you can set a pin for security, but that doesn't help much if you're streaming to a tv that uses only a remote. Typing the pin with a remote in a crowded room of onlookers is not ideal. It would be better if the steam link connections were initiated from the steam deck rather than the remote tv device, or at the very least approved from the deck. would also be nice if the security settings for steam link were per paired device, rather than global to all paired devices. Basically it's all or nothing for security and the pin is your only option. would be nice if i could leave some systems without and some systems with. My personal desktop probably doesn't need a pin, but the family room tv that everyone uses should have some security for instance. I would also love to see the ability to terminate steam link connections from the deck. Like if you have a steam link connection on your deck currently streaming, you should just be able to hit a button to disconnect that session on the deck. As of now I've seen no such button, and I find that a little unsettling. I also don't think the deck does enough to notify you when a streaming session starts. They kind of assume you and only you have 100% control of every device you're connecting to your deck. It's possible though that if you have a shared tv for your kid to start a streaming session while you're playing a game and you could be completely oblivious to that. That's especially dangerous if you happen to be playing/watching something "adult" oriented. Never mind that the tv can gain complete remote access and control the steam deck via the tv remote in some cases. Yes you have to pair the device beforehand, but if you don't set a pin and carefully guard the screen when you type it in, your kids could really mess with you if they're clever.
Also, Steam Deck needs firewalld/nftables built in. It was a huge pain to set that up and I feel it's 100% necessary with things like steam link and kde connect on the deck by default.

I'm still annoyed by the duplicated Collections (both, desktop and deck) and the duplicated controller layouts. Same goes for the still existing bug where it will suddenly scroll up when you are actually scrolling down.
Both isn't the end of the world, but you might think that it would get fixed pretty quickly.
Well, given that they also haven't fixed the inverted rendering of the Index Controllers on Linux after more than a year... *shrugs*

Yes, if only valve would give VR a little love. This has been very disappointing.

There is seemingly a big issue with DNS on the steam deck that I would like fixed. I have two decks and for some reason only one of them requires that I add DNS manually or many things won't work. I've seen many people on Reddit saying they have the same issue with no acknowledgement from Valve.

That's interesting, I've had my Deck for about a month now and haven't noticed any networking problems at all. I do, however, run my own custom dns/dhcp servers and I haven't really used my deck off network yet, so it remains to be seen if that will keep holding true.

What about Bluetooth? Why does it fail to detect any devices most of the time? It's just luck of the draw whether or not I'll be able to use my ear buds day to day.

This would be awesome, I recently removed windows and switched to fedora and this is really annoying.
