No Man's Sky works great on Linux desktop and Steam Deck with Proton and now I need to jump back in because the Interceptor update sounds great. Update: a small patch went up in version 4.20.1 shortly after, to fix issues on Steam Deck.
Some of what's in the update includes: the new procedurally generated Sentinel Interceptor ships you can salvage to add to your collection, corrupted planets to visit full of strange things to discover, VR interface improvements, system authority ships now get procedurally generated, multiple new special corrupted enemies to fight, some enemies can now use cloaking, a new type of jet-pack, new ship components, Sentinel quadruped combat units got a big scary overhaul, new multi-tools, new sentinel capital ship battles and the list goes on…

Continuing their big free upgrades, Hello Games impresses once again. It's no surprise that it's one of the most played games on Steam Deck.
You can buy it on Humble Store and Steam.

Great work, folks.
I've been jumping into this game like once or twice a year for the last 5 years and keep track of the new content is easy because everytime I play after a couple of updates it's easy to know whats new or what to do next, but it must be hard for newcomers to know what you can actually do, tha game barely points you what can be done.
Quoting: NezchanOkay, that's funny. They pushed a patch just as I was typing that last post, and now I don't even get as far as the starfield opening. I can get to choosing to load or start a new game, after a considerable wait and sometimes the graphics don't load for the options, and then it just dies on me.
Great work, folks.
I can't even get that far. The game tries to start, but only plays the intro music and shows a transparent, borderless window with no graphics of any kind. I'm beyond frustrated.
This is with a brand new, fully updated install of Fedora 38 on a fairly new Dell XPS 15. It previously ran the game very well with enhanced graphics.
