Even with all the talk about 8GB VRAM simply not being enough now for all the new games coming out, we're still seeing multiple launches with it. Now with the AMD Radeon RX 7600 priced at $269.

Announced today by AMD and availability actually tomorrow, May 25th with partners including ASRock, ASUS, Biostar, Gigabyte, MSI, Sapphire, PowerColor, Vastarmor, XFX and Yeston.

From the press release:

“Currently, 65% of gamers surveyed are playing at 1080p and the majority are still using older graphics cards, unable to take advantage of the latest performance and visual-enhancing features that deliver the best gaming experiences,” said Scott Herkelman, senior vice president and general manager, Graphics Business Unit at AMD. “AMD offers a range of graphics solutions at different price points, memory configurations and performance levels to support a variety of gamers’ needs. The Radeon RX 7600 graphics card at US $269 hits the sweet spot for high-performance 1080p gaming. It allows users to enjoy the latest features like AV1 encoding, the AMD Radiance Display Engine and more to take their gaming, streaming and content creation projects to the next level.”

VRAM size aside, the price to performance ratio seems pretty reasonable here. No review from me though, as AMD don't send over hardware ever and don't reply to emails even just to be on their press list either despite repeated attempts. I email them every product launch to complete silence.

Most importantly - what do you make of the specs and price? Will this be your next GPU?

Quoting: FSFmemberFound the review! https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-radeon-rx-7600/33.html
Top notch quality review AFAIK.
Quoting: Whitewolfe806600 non xt pretty much matches it but is cheaper
unfortunately there's no comparison to 6600 non XT, care to elaborate with data? I'm interested.

And it actually has rather good power consumption.

I don't play games with resolutions higher than 1920*1080, because my monitor (Asus VG278QR, 3 years old) does not have more pixels.
And I'm not interested in bigger monitors, just better GTG values and Hz.

Quoting: TimeFreezeI know its kinda off topic but since the Intel Cards got mentioned: Against what could you compare an ARC 750/770?

Really hard to say due to driver issues and games not being optimized for newer architectural designs.

On Windows in 1080p they currently benchmark near the RX 7600 this article is about. But at higher resolutions and with ray-tracing etc. the more modern architecture of the Arc does give up to 30-40% benefit over similar priced AMD cards (but overall low framerates, so this doesn't help all that much).

The Arc A770 is also pretty much the only GPU in this price segment that is available with 16gb VRAM, which is likely going to be a longer term benefit and helps a lot with AI compute stuff (Stable Diffusion etc.) right now.

But on Linux the gaming performance of the Intel Arc is really not there yet due to driver issues and even under Windows the gaming benchmarks seem to fall quite short of what the theoretical power of these cards would suggest.

QuoteEven with all the talk about 8GB VRAM simply not being enough now

This just seems obscene to me...

Besides the (always useful) phoronix benchmarks, I also find this helpful in finding good value:
https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_value.html

It doesn't have data for the latest models just yet, but you can see that the RX 6650 XT is a great value; I considered one a few months back, but got a good deal on a 3060Ti.

AMD selling Graphics cards cheap, My stomach turns, my flesh creeps! It's good to have a competition.
My next card is AMD! That's for sure.

Quoting: mrdeathjrWell if rtx 4060ti is a fail in various levels, this card join to same group

Personally seems better rx 6700 10gb or 6700/50 xt 12gb and back to rx 7600 as rtx 4060 ti/non ti are stupid cards with stupid price

Let's wait and see the benchmarks, but usually, generation to generation, the RX7600 should be close to the RX6700, performance wise, at a much lower price...

It's hardly any faster than a 4-year-old 5700XT and considerably slower than a 6700XT. The benchmarks are already out.

As absurd as it might sound, 8GB is really holding the nVidia cards back: 16GB vs. 8GB VRAM: Radeon RX 6800 vs. GeForce RTX 3070, 2023 Revisit

Unless it's a noticeable boost from my RX 6600 (non-XT), then I don't see myself buying it.

What disappoints me the most is the power consumption, but that was to be expected. Still a good option but I may prefer the RX 6600 over it, and buy the generation that comes after.

And I'm a 1080p gamer (just got a 27in 1080p 144hz monitor, I prefer higher fps to better resolution, personally). This GPU seems like a perfect match for me.
Pretty much same boat I was in before I bought the 6600 XT a couple years ago. The difference is the price... I was gouged during the GPU shortage. I was really tired of waiting to move on from the RX 580. I'll say the 6600 XT has been a good middle-grade card, but disappointing when I think about how much I paid for it.
