A pixel-art version of The Sims? Sign me up. Tiny Life from Ellpeck Games and Top Hat Studios is now available in Early Access. It comes with full Native Linux support and it should work just fine on Steam Deck too.

For anyone who has played anything like The Sims it shouldn't need a big intro. In this open-ended game you control a set of people that live together and you take care of all their needs, build them up, make relationships or whatever you want really. From what I played of earlier versions before this Early Access release, it showed a lot of promise and was already fun.

There's also now a brand new trailer:

Early Access means of course it's not finished and they have a long roadmap ahead, with a full release expected sometime during 2024. During development they plan to add in more complex relationships, more public buildings, special social events, more maps, multiple floors, seasons, multiplayer and much more.

It will be interesting to see if it finds an audience. People absolutely love these types of sims.

Available to buy on Steam and there's also a demo available.

Buy but don't install. I've done that with a couple of kickstarter campaigns, supported it, redeemed the code when given but not installed it until the right time. I'm still waiting for the full release of Zelter lol

The game and the demo are also available DRM-free on https://ellpeck.itch.io/tiny-life by the way (and always have been - the game debuted there ).
