Do you have a dedicated gaming PC? In my opinion, Steam OS is the weakest part of the Steam Deck (poorly optimised, especially for a touch system; in general badly implemented, e.g. the steamdeck user; I believe updates take too long) which I would never recommend for a general purpose PC.

Ye I have a main gaming rig. Was thinking the deck could replace it. But after using the deck, it will not do that. Im treating the deck as a console to game in bed, on the run and in the living room for more casual sessions.

When it comes to the deck I love the ui and don’t have problems with it at all. But hopefully they can optimise the ui. The only real problem I have is the battery time

As a console it works well. Just as a Linux system (especially the Desktop on the Deck), I see a lot of problems.
