Mojang recently sent out a rather important reminder, as the time is running out to swap your Mojang account for Minecraft over to Microsoft.

If you don't swap over, you'll lose access to play Minecraft: Java Edition after September 19th 2023. Since I know there's plenty of Minecraft fans reading, figured it might be a good time to prod you towards the switch over to ensure you don't lose access to your game.

So you'll need to switch over before September 19th. Otherwise, you really will lose access so don't delay.

You can find out how to do the move over here.

Not everyone has a price, it just rarely makes a functional difference because the people who don't have one rarely end up in positions of power.

Of course everyone has a price. Won't you sign up for a microsoft account if you were given absolute rulership over the world including ownership of microsoft itself? Everyone has a price, it just lies somewhere in between zero and the above.

Well yes everyone has a price but some people don't take cash for one reason or another. Conveniently however cash is quite easy to convert into other forms of extortion for that type of individual.

I suppose it is trivially true that everyone has a price for any X if the price can include getting X back as one portion of it. But that's not really meaningful.

Problem with the Migration is that you have zero support from Mojang or Microsoft if Microsoft decides to lock down your account after the migration AND is not telling you why the account was locked, so you could prevent it with the next account!!! Happend with every single one of my accounts and it took weeks to unlock. Same happened as I bought Minecraft Dungeons on Steam. Account locked without a reason!

IMHO Microsoft is mobbing Linux Users!

I did the migration near the start of all this so my kid could play then they locked my account for suspicous activity after two days. They´ve ignored my emails requesting proof of such activity, just told me I could unlock it by providing my phone number.

Happily playing Mineclone2 with my little one nowadays while my account remains locked.

MS can keep it. Vintage Story and Minetest it is then.

Great news for me! I have been trying to delete the account for some time, but due to the bugs in the website and terrible customer service I have been unable to do so. Sometimes problems solve themselves.

I will never understand why this never reached anything close to a lawsuit.

The issue is not about Microsoft ownership but forcing every single player to use Microsoft account or lose access to the game, even at single-player.

Many people who never migrated to Microsoft accounts by whatever reason they feel, will lose access a legitimately purchased game.
