Once again, ELDEN RING has managed to become the number 1 most played game on Steam Deck, after hovering close to it over the last couple of months. Here's the top 20 most played on Steam Deck for May 2023.

The list given out by Valve on Twitter includes these games sorted by hours played top to bottom, with each being a link to go buy a copy on either Humble Store or Steam depending on availability:

In case you missed it, here's also my most recent Steam Deck and gaming news round-up video:

As for me? I'm still a bit hooked by Halls of Torment:

Lord of the Rings Online... On the Steam Deck... Why? Because I can. It's playable. The maps are a little on the small side, some parts are hard to read and you need to get used to the button mappings. No need of the touchscreen, if you don't want to. I wouldn't use it as a daily driver, but as a backup plan, it's better than I thought.

Prior to this, I finished a Ori and the Will of the Wisps run. Great game! I had quite a blast. I tried RDR2, but even though I recognize the quality of the game, I can't seem to get the hang of it... Probably my ADD. Else, I dusted off some Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor and Mad Max. All on the Steam Deck or on my desktop via the Steam Link app on my Nvidia Shield.

Hades...When I can pry my Steam Deck from my SO's hands... (Hades too, but a second run). I guess I need to buy a second one at some point.

It's a pain to manage a single one, especially as I often use it as a computer, booting on an external SSD, docked.

I find it interesting how Elden Ring, Stardew Valley, and Vampire Survivors are so often battling it out for the top spot in the monthly Steam Deck most-played charts - they're all so different, and on most platforms wouldn't be in such close "competition" like this, so I find it pretty interesting to see.

Just curious, how well do you get along with it in this use-case?

I've played and completed The Pedestrian, The Gardens Between and Blackwell 3. I've started Lego City Undercover (crashes sometimes) and Runaway 2 (needs replacement ddraw.dll to fix extremely 1 FPS cursor trouble).

Im always amazed how Grand Theft Auto V makes onto these lists after all these years.........

Ha, I spent the effort trying to get D&D Online to work on the Steam Deck, but the controls are definitely intended to be with keyboard and mouse.

Elder Scrolls Online wirks pretty well on it though! I also keep meaning to try Star Trek Online on it.

Aaaah! D&D Online... Got fond memories of this one too. The combat system is a thing of it's own and pretty awesome. Unfortunately the quest system was often a show stopper, for me, when it came to the longer quests that I didn't have enough playtime to finish.

I had an utter bitch of a time figuring out how to get a key for it, as it has changed owners multiple times, and I already have a LOTR Online account from ages ago... who also switched owners a few times.
