Today the Steam Summer Sale 2023 is live once again, where a great many developers put up big discounts for their games. You know the drill right? Your wallet is already hiding from you.
Not only are lots and lots of games on sale but the Steam Deck is as well. You can pick up the 64GB model with 10% off, the 256GB model with 15% off and the 512GB model with 20% off right now. Interestingly, the two lower models have been out of stock in the UK for a while but now they're back in stock - I wonder if Valve were hoarding a bunch ready for the sale expecting many to get sold at once.
Valve also put up a special Top 100 page for the Steam Deck so you can easily scroll down through a nice list with discounts and expected compatibility with Deck Verified ratings. You can also get the Steam Deck on sale on Komodo for select regions.
Valve made a trailer for the event too:

As always - if you find a particularly good deal for a game that works on Linux or Steam Deck be sure to comment and give over your own recommendations. I'm currently going over my own wishlist but my pile of shame is already rather long at this point.
For a few quick picks I can recommend Valheim (40% off, highest discount yet), I will also never not recommend Deep Rock Galactic (67% off) both great co-op games. Now that Dead by Daylight (60% off) works great I can also suggest that as great fun.
Valve also has a few little treats with a free sticker to claim each day, a new seasonal badge in the Points Shop, two new Artist Profiles and some chances to earn Summer Sale trading cards to level up your Summer Sale Badge.
Check out the sale on the Steam store. The Steam Summer Sale 2023 lasts until July 13th at 10am PT / 5pm UTC.
Quoting: JozuaAARRGGHHHHHH the Steam Deck is still unavailable to buy in Australia!!! And 20% off is such a good deal; Valve are pretty much teasing us at this point
Yeah crazy the rog ally came out officially first. But you can buy the Steam Deck from Kogan no problems.
Got a few DLCs for Gladius: Relics of War and one for Mechanicus.
I've already picked up Divinity: Original Sin 2 after my brother talked it up to me last month and two more DLC for Cities: Skylines, we'll see if I end up picking anything else up. I got Terra Invicta when it was on sale a few weeks ago and it's been consuming my life.
It would be a neat LAN party device, but it's a far drive to my friends' houses these days. My LAN parties are with my kids now with full desktops.
Quoting: RaabenI was really hoping Elden Ring would be a bit less this time around, though that might never happen. It's a little bit lower than the Steam price over at key-seller Fanatical right now, if that's any help.
This really crappy game from Windows 95/98 days -- Chip's Challenge.

The game is crap but also somehow amazing at the same time. It's worth every penny.
Quoting: gradyvuckovic20% off the 512GB Steam Deck is a hell of a deal. That thing was already well worth the price at it's normal price, but 20% off? If you don't have one I'd snap that up.
So .. it's cheaper to buy the cheapest one and upgrade the SSD yourself... But the higher end one has the "Premium anti glare etched glass"... Is that worth the extra $70USD?? I've seen anti glare protectors from Jsax for as low at 14$USD... I'm kinda curious as to the difference.
