Okay now THIS is exciting as heck. Armored Core VI Fires Of Rubicon will be "fully supported" on Steam Deck according to FromSoftware.

As mentioned in an article on Digital Trends who spoke to Game Director Masaru Yamamura, and producer Yasunori Ogura, with Ogura revealing "Obviously seeing how well Elden Ring performed on the Steam Deck, we were very happy, and we wanted to at least create that as a baseline going forward for this handheld. So it is fully supported for Steam Deck … we just want to reassure players that it will be fully supported."

There's also a brand new gameplay preview video out:

More about it:

Combining FromSoftware’s longstanding expertise in mech games with their signature action gameplay, ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON brings a brand-new action experience to the series.

Dynamic, Omni-directional Battles
Players will pilot their mech in fast-paced, omni-directional battles, taking advantage of massive stages and their mech’s mobility on land and in the air to ensure victory.

Customized Parts for Individual Battle Styles
Customize Armored Core parts to suit a large variety of playstyles. Selecting different parts not only changes the mech’s attacks, but also directly affects its movement and battle style, so each mission can be approached with a unique mech strategy.

Thrilling Boss Battles
Deploy a wide variety of offensive and defensive tactics at close and long range to take down powerful enemy bosses.

I really can't tell you how excited I am by this one. A proper big-budget mech game, it looks like everything I've wanted in such a game for years. You can absolutely bet I will be taking a look at this one on desktop Linux and Steam Deck for the release! Will you be picking it up too?

It releases on August 24th with pre-purchase available on Fanatical and Steam.

Already pre-ordered it on Fanatical (I know, pre-order bad). I'm very hyped by this game. Never got to play the other one when they were still "recent", but gave a try to AC3 and I loved it (Even if the default controls are... specials ).

I have been craving for a good mech game, and I hope AC6 can scratch this itch! If they are trying to have an experience on the SD as smooth as Elden Ring, I really think it's gonna be great!

Yes, pre-order bad.
But so far, FromSoft hasn't missed, so there's that.

I'm still waiting because I never played any Armored Core game, so I just don't know if it would be the kind of game I'd like.

I played the hell out of the PS2 episode (don't remember which one it was) on a friend's console back in the day.
If Armored Core VI is anywhere near as good as the series used to be, prepare for spending hundreds of hours of refined gameplay and mech customization. This is Otaku dreamland.
