Another month down and Valve has announced what's been popular over the last month, so let's take a look at the top Steam Deck list for June 2023. Sorted by hours played top to bottom, here's what was popular with players on the Steam Deck through June 2023:

No surprise on many there really but it's a great example of the many different types of games people are playing. The Steam Deck is just so versatile, as long as you're willing to turn down some settings in the most recent releases.

What have you been playing over the last month?

All that and more noted in my latest Steam Deck news round-up video:

I had to give up on Days Gone. I'd spec my entire character around Focus, and when you get to the horde level, focus is useless - you need stamina. After about 20 attempts, it was time to un-install and move on, which is a shame, cos it was a great game otherwise, once you get over the fact that a fully tanked Harley can seemingly only travel about 2 kilometres before needing re-fueled!

Er...I played a game(which name I shall mention here because if kids find about it they love it) where you are an anti-hero and you adventure through a city levels beating grannies, get out of them some money to buy beer from a alcohol store. Then it's nice to get drunk and pass out to get an access even more difficult levels. Btw A nice side effect is after you've beaten a granny, you get all the cops to come after you and if you have a knife or a baton they can be easily dealt with! There is also a engineering student who sells a magazine and you cannot refuse from buying it and then there's a bum, who bums all your alcohol away! A kind of funny game. There's more hilarious things in it but I won't tell you more this time. I can only tell this that aim of the game is to find cognaq bottle which is hidden somewhere in the game! And this Game is, from what I've heard, based on reality! A very relaxing game where you can leave your brains to the nearest kiosk so to speak!

Absolutely having a blast right now with Dave the Diver. Highly recommend! Here's hoping it gets the love it deserves and we see it on a top list next month :)

I'm aiming to do that in September once Super Bomberman R 2 is out.

I've been playing The Outer Wilds, I deeply regret sleeping on this in my backlog for such a long time, it's been a breath of fresh air to play after all the samey stuff and usual suspects. Great exploration, fun puzzles to solve, great physics... The way the game implements a whole solar system with Newtonian physics, solar shadows, rotating and revolving planets, and the jetpack, it's just a delight to play this. It plays quite well at 40fps for >2hrs playtime, or plugged in at 60fps but expect dips to 30 when NPCs are around (which is rare).

I am playing Kindoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, a fun RPG which works really great on Deck (it is Verified).

Couldn't agree more - an absolute masterpiece. Multiple endings too, and some of the puzzles are genius - in that they feel complex and impossible and then suddenly when you get it, it's a "duh" moment and it's all so simple.

Amazing game.

I didn't defeat a single horde! After three attempts at each horde in the main storyline, the game offered to just let me skip it. I decided that hordes were not at all enjoyable for me, so I unashamedly took the offer. I really enjoyed the rest of the game. I finished the main story but not all of the side quests. My favourite bits were taking out ambush camps silently. Ninja St John!
