Heroic Games Launcher recently had a massive 2.9.0 version bump with some awesome new features like Amazon Games integration. However, it was just a little bit broken.
What is it? Heroic Games Launcher is an open source game launcher that supports GOG, Epic Games, Amazon Games and it can side-load browser apps and pretty much any installer now too. Available for Linux (and Steam Deck), macOS, Windows.
The 2.9.0 release was broken in the way that uh — games wouldn't actually launch. Bit of a woops but it's solved now and the 2.9.1 hotfix also cleans up some issues for the new Amazon Games integration too. Checking back on it myself and yup, it seems nicely fixed with games launching properly again now (including from Amazon).
What's changed in 2.9.1:
- [Fix] Specify
--wrapper
only if there are wrappers by @CommandMC in #2893- [FIX]: Multiple Amazon Games bugs by @imLinguin in #2897
As a reminder of the highlight features from 2.9.0:
- Amazon Games Support
- GPTK support
- DRM support for browser apps
- ProtonDB & Steam Deck compatibility on game page
- Playtime tracking for GOG
- Possibility to disable log files
- Installing older DXVK on older hardware

Or something like that.
Quoting: TangoBakerThis seems like a good place to ask. Has anyone had any luck getting Crimson Skies or Interstate '76 to run through Heroic? I've been trying for a while and I haven't had any success. There is a support channel on the Heroic Discord Server, where you should upload some logfiles so people can try to help :)
Quoting: fenglengshunNot surprising that the Nix packagers are holding off for the hotfix. Wonder if there'll be a second hotfix after this.Probably,EOS Overlay install got broken
