It's not due out for quite a while though, and they won't be hitting their December 2023 plan as they posted in their latest Kickstarter update. They said "In some of the previous updates we discussed that the game is going to be taking longer to finish than the initially planned for December 2023 release date. We shed some light on the reasons for this in the previous updates, but for posterity we'll discuss it again.

The delayed release is primarily a result of raising more than 10x the amount of funds we had initially planned for. This basically means need to make a game that is 10x bigger / better than what we initially planned for."

They're also working on a fresh demo.

You can follow it on Steam.

Don't agree with the reasoning that a game should be 10 times bigger and better because of the backing numbers. That sort of creep never works out well.

Game looks cool though. And if you're going to copy (eh, let yourself be inspired by) something, taking Hollow Knight is a good choice. And I see some Ori in there as well. If it stick with the native build I will definitely give it a good try. I wonder how the difficulty will feel though. I managed to get to the end credits in Hollow Knight. But getting to the "full end" proved to be a harsh punishment and I might be running up against my own limitations.

Dunno, "being inspired by" HK is a double edge blade: it's a great place to start but the mark you are going to measure against is really high.

Actually, though I really like metroidvanias I've been having problems loving titles like Ori, blasphemous or ENDER LILLIES because I was feeling like "yeah, they're alright but they have some issues". While I'm sure if have loved them if wouldn't played HK.
