Check out the demo for Beacon Patrol based on the popular board game

With a planned full release in 2024, developers BrutalHack and Shapes and Dreams have put up a demo for Beacon Patrol - a relaxing game all about exploring the ocean. It's actually a digital adaption of the board game of the same name, one that's quite highly rated too.

You play as the captain of the Coast Guard, as you navigate the North Sea to secure its beacon buoys, lighthouses and waterways. You do so by placing down tiles to gradually expand the map to explore. Each turn you place up to three tiles, connecting to the tile your ship is currently on and then move across, with the game ending once all tiles have been played and you score points for each tile that is connected to other tiles on all four sides.

I gave the demo a test today on my desktop and it worked great, seems like a lovely game overall to spend a little time with so be sure to give it a go.

At release it will have full Native Linux support and a demo is available right now on Steam. The developer mentioned it's planned to be priced at $11.99.
