ChimeraOS is a Linux distribution designed for gamers, especially if you're wanting to get something similar to SteamOS on a handheld similar to the Steam Deck like the ROG Ally. The latest release ChimeraOS 44, has just gone out with improvements pretty much everywhere!

This release comes with Linux 6.5.3, OpenGamepadUI 0.21.7 and Mesa 23.1.7. The list of fixes for various hardware is quite long too you can expect to see improvements for the ROG Ally, AYANEO Air Plus, GPD Win4, Aya Neo 2 and Aya Neo Geek, and various Ayn Loki devices.

ChimeraOS also now has a dynamic swapfile, which they said "has been reported to boost a lot of games". The default is 1GB like the Steam Deck and it's compatible with tools like CryoUtilities. Their version of Gamescope will also now no longer need you to set the resolution per-game to play at resolutions over 720p. Additionally they said that AMD GPU hands / resets should now just automatically restart Gamescope instead of crashing and needing a hard reset.

Emulation has also been improved as they fixed saved games not working on PSP games and they adjusted settings for PlayStation 2 and Nintendo 64 to prevent some graphical issues in some games.

Work has also continued on OpenGamepadUI, an alternative front-end to Steam Big Picture, which now includes Performance Profile per-game, Power Tools support for "the entire AMD 7000 APU series" along with various input improvements.

Also NVIDIA support has been removed due to too many problems.

OpenGamepadUI is looking slick!
Not to mention, it's developed in Godot. 👍

Thanks! I was thinking it was under their project not it's own thing!
