Trese Brothers have now announced that their cyberpunk Squad-tactics heist RPG Cyber Knights: Flashpoint is going to launch on October 17th. This follows multiple impressive demos shown off during recent Steam festivals, where they were repeatedly improving it based on feedback so hopefully the full release is looking good.

I'm a fan of this developer because of Star Traders Frontiers, which was a very interesting game that they put an amazing amount of work into even years after its release. It's the only spaceship-based RPG that I'm aware with the style and depth of a tabletop RPG. I have about 100 hours in it and enjoyed it, but I felt that the game did a particularly bad job of presenting information about the game mechanics (e.g. I can't tell you how many times I had to look up dice rules) which really held it back. I could easily see myself spending 500 hours in it over the years if the presentation were a lot more polished.
This new game looks a lot more generic, clearly close to XCOM in a lot of ways (not necessarily a bad thing, but it's been done a lot). Considering STF, I would expect that if there's anything particularly great about this game it's going to be in the character building, which as far as I know we haven't seen a lot of information on, so I'm very curious to see more about it.

This is definitely my kind of game. I'm looking forward to finding out if it's as good as it seems like it might be.

When I played the demo I got much more vibes of Invisible Inc instead of XCOM. The demo levels felt more like puzzles and which needed to be solved by a smart combination of the provided skills, while randomness/chance doesn't play that big of a role.
I hope they improved clarity further, while playing I wasn't always sure why enemies could see me or not. In one level I thought my character was standing directly in line-of-view, but the enemies were confused where they got shot from and didn't do much. They already moved into that direction during the steam festival and e.g. showed more clearly what and why enemies were doing by text notifications.

That has been on my wish list for a while already. I'm interested because I (mostly) like XCOM combat but am not a fan of the base management aspects.
