Steam SHMUP Fest is live now

By -

Ready for the pew pew pew? Steam is hosting their very own SHMUP Fest, so keep an eye out for stray bullets heading towards your wallet.

Live now until October 2nd 10AM PT / 5PM UTC there's discounts and demos across many different games that in some way get classed as a shoot-em-up. As we know, Steam is often quite generous on what it allows to be tagged so you might find some rather odd picks in there.

To get you going here's a few picks of games I think are quality and discounted right now:

Check out the SHMUP Fest here.

If you do find anything particularly entertaining, do come back and give us a comment with your thoughts. Help out your fellow GOL readers to find their next SHMUP to kill some time with.

Haha, ZUN really is not into discount. You buy it full price (which tbf is pretty low all things considered), or you buy it never.

I'm on the verge of buying Atomicrops which is on 80% discount at the moment. Just watched a Wanderbots video of gameplay, and as quite a fan of Nuclear Throne and the various Vampire Survivors clones, I think it'd be up my alley.

Quoting: Linas
Quoting: Linux_RocksMushihimesama by Cave.
This gives me so much anxiety.
It's actually not as hard as it looks. Once you figure out the movements, you can make it through a lot of that without dying. lol

I originally bought Mushihimesama on Steam when it released cause it wasn't region free on the 360 like Mushihimesama Futari. But when it dropped on the Switch I got Mushihimesama on there too. Cause I'd rather play it on there, and I also got the physical copy from Limited Run Games. I'm really surprised that Mushihimesama Futari hasn't had a Steam release though.
