Linux gamers, it's your time to shine. Minecraft Live is coming up again on October 15th where Mojang will do another vote on what mob to add next so obviously you're going to vote for the Penguin right?

The choices this time are a Penguin, Crab or Armadillo. Voting for the event begins 1 PM EDT / 5PM UTC October 13 and runs until 1:15 PM EDT / 5:15 PM UTC on October 15. To vote you can do so on the Minecraft website or via the official launcher. Last year's winner was the Sniffer, added into Minecraft in the The Trails & Tales Update.

For the main event they go over everything Minecraft related, usually mentioning upcoming updates. If anything interesting is announced I'll be sure to give it a write-up as usual.

i'll vote for nothing bcs there hasn't been a single actually useful mob in those votes ever, and all these "polls" do is stir up bulllshit controverses among the playerbase which will just make them talk about it non-stop, as some sort of anger-based advertisement campaign and that is working more than y'all think.

best thing to do is highlight and support mod authors who actually add interesting stuff to the game instead of microsoft pushing bogus updates to minecraft.

As long as the biomes where polar bears and penguins spawn won't overlap, I'm fine with it.

Otherwise, you're just feeding more into existing geographical ignorance in real life.

Oh no, but I love all three of those!

just add all 3. Of course we are talking about Minecraft i'm sure someone has already modded these things in the game already!

If I were to vote, I'd vote for one of the other two as the penguin seems to have the least compelling use case.

Penguin: will apparently be able to make boats faster. Whether that's just locally for a short while if you happen to be nearby one or not is unknown. If you could just put one in a boat and you'd have a permanent motor, that'd be more interesting at least.

Armadillo: will drop scutes which you can make into armor for your dogs. With this, maybe I'd finally chance taking dogs with me anywhere because they die too easily right now.

Crabs: will supposedly drop claws which you can use to extend your reach with. Kinda weird, but really useful in a lot of situations I'd imagine.

To be honest I give a shit. This whole migration disaster has killed my mood to play Minecraft at all.
I moved several Accounts to Microsoft. EVERYONE got locked. I still don't know why. The Minecraft Support is completely useless. The don't read your tickets, they just assuming what this ticket is about and then send out their "standard" emails. Feels more like chatting with an AI like ChatGPT. Only stupid answers which have nothing to do with the problem at all.

The migration process didn't work. Only got an error message "This service is temporary unavailable". Also discovered several different ways in the process for creating a Microsoft Account(!!!). It was a pain, especially with this useless support. The solution in the end was to hit a few time back in the browser to solve the "temporary" problem WTF?!?! *facepalm*

Sorry, but I have enough from this Microsoft Bullshit!

I've got crabs in my current modded server, and I'm pretty sure I've seen penguins in previous worlds with different modpacks. I'm not sure about armadillos, but I wouldn't be surprised.
