You know how this goes — for a limited time there will be tons of free demos from developers all over the world on Steam to test before they launch, plus developer chats and livestreams.

It's a fun event, but it can be quite overwhelming with major FOMO but thankfully you have a good while as the event lasts until October 16 at 5PM UTC. Many games often leave their demos up for a few days or weeks after but that's never certain.
Some of the quick-pick games that I think you should check out include:
- Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor
- The Thaumaturge
- Ghostrunner 2
- FOUNDRY
- The Talos Principle 2
- Anima Flux (Native Linux)
- IDUN (Native Linux)
- Hell Throne (Native Linux)
With plenty of filtering options on the event page, you're bound to find something that interests you. I will also admit my immense surprise, that when filtering to just Linux that in the top 5 most wishlisted games is A Shot in the Dark (NSFW), which looks like hardcore porn gamified into a visual novel style experience (you may see the list differently based on filters). Just goes to show what kind of content can be found on Steam nowadays. A little something for everyone it seems.
This is also one of the best things to happen in recent years, a proper digital event that's easily accessible by the masses.

In all seriousness though, the level of double standards by Valve on adult content on Steam is stupid and sorta sad. Cause you'll have crappy porn games left and right, but then an 18+ patch for a game will get blocked even though the previous games in the series have them on Steam already. *cough* NEKOPARA Vol. 4. *cough*
A bit on the heavy side, but still manageable on my 5 year old machine. Unlike a certain robocop game.

There's nothing that's catching my eye at all, and there's not even a genre filter for one of my lifelong favourites, maze-chase, which just goes to show how small that genre's gotten over the years.

I also played a bit of Sentry - and I'm liking that too - Combination of FPS and Tower Defence. Set aboard a space-ship and preventing a horde of aliens from reaching vulnerable areas of the ship.
Looking forward to (eventually) trying out Enshrouded and IDUN. They also look cool.

I found the demo bit before the fest, so I got a head start. Deep Rock Galactic as a survivors clone does bring something fresh to the genre.
Let's see how much time I have for this fest. I started playing leftovers from last one, so it might take a while to catch up.
