Just before the weekend hit Valve released SteamOS 3.4.11, which brings with it the Firmware 116 update that was previously only in the in-preview SteamOS 3.5. Valve also seem to keep switching between calling it Steam Deck OS and SteamOS.
Here's what's changed:
Firmware 116
- Improved robustness of the Firmware Settings Reset chord (Volume Down + Quick-Access + Power) against some boot hang scenarios.
- Fixed a rare issue that would set the processor TDP limit too low causing CPU and GPU frequencies to be stuck at 400 MHz and 200 MHz respectively.
- Fixed an issue when the charging light would turn back on when plugged in for a while after fully charged.
Fixed an issue where power button presses could switch games to keyboard/mouse mode.
Some nice improvements there, likely work to ensure the SteamOS 3.5 stable release rollout is smooth when it's ready.
On X (formerly Twitter), Valve developer Pierre-Loup Griffais also recently mentioned "Flickering on-screen keyboard bug in launchers has been fixed and the update has been pushed."
