Another month is over and Valve has revealed what you've all been playing on Steam Deck for October 2023, so here's the most popular games. Sorted from highest to lowest, based on hours played, each is also a Steam link if you want to go and check them out.

I expect that with the AMD FSR 2.2 update for Baldur's Gate 3 it will stay pretty high over the next month, since it does look better on Steam Deck now. I'm still surprised at the amount of people doing Starfield on it though, because it really is rough on Steam Deck but then again people play a lot on Nintendo Switch where even first-party games have big issues without a care so…

What have you been playing lately?

What have you been playing lately?

I've been replaying some of my old games; the ones that made me switch to Linux. Most recently, Mark of the Ninja, and now Brütal Legend

Added Dave the Diver to my wishlist!

I've been playing Minecraft modpacks, DDNet, and Last Epoch though. I'll get back to BG3 after I finish LE.

What have you been playing lately?

Doom 2016 (current), Bioshock Infinite - Burial at sea part I & II and before that Dirt Showdown. All of them are awesome on the Steam Deck.

Edit: Oh! Forgot about my Batman Arkham Knight and Origin runs!

All I've played recently (apart from short games of Noita of course), is Inkbound. Absolutely amazing multiplayer roguelite from the creators of Monster Train. Highly recommended.

Inkbound is also 25% off until Saturday too.

That's a couple of really seriously entertaining games right there. I also been (besides those two) been playin' "7 Days to Die" again. One of my favorite zombie apocalypse games of all time.

I've been working my way through the Shadowrun games for the last little while - I'm just finishing up Hong Kong now. The (default) community controller layout makes it an excellent experience on the Deck.

I've modded Skyrim with fun stuff like the Precision mod that makes combat more accurate and impactful. When I finally got through modding it, I have been hooked to it!
I can’t afford a Deck (because mortgage) but I really wish I could. I’ve just started a play through Human Revolution > Mankind Divided > Deus Ex.
But after a week I’m only a couple hours into Human Revolution. If I had a deck I’d at least be able to play it more than 30 minutes at a time. Guess I’ll be done by 2052.

I've been working my way through the Shadowrun games
I just finished SNES Shadowrun too.

The Venus Next expansion for the digital version of Terraforming Mars (probably my favorite board game) just dropped yesterday, and since I'll be away from home the next two weeks for a conference/visiting family it'll probably get a bunch of playtime on my Deck.

I 100% agree with this. Not to mention how (pardon my language) s**tty Nintendo is as a company. Imo, they're worse than Apple.

Dave The Diver is great; I was a bit worried that I wouldn't like it, but I do like it, maybe a bit more than I should, given how much I played it recently! 😂

What have you been playing lately?
Super Bomberman R 2 (Proton), of course.

Also Bail or Jail (Obakeidoro!) (Proton), Layers of Fear (2016) (Native Linux), and Placid Plastic Duck Simulator (Proton), which I played over Halloween.

And I've just started on Mia and the Dragon Princess (Proton) and, using RetroDECK, Bomberman Hero (N64).

Solo I've been playing Sable, The Long Dark & Salt 2. With some groups I've been playing Baldur's Gate 3, Icarus & Valheim.

Been a great year for gaming on Linux!

I absolutely hate Valheim -- but that's not my point -- my point is how cool would it be if I could give my 2 copies away to someone who might like it.

This was possible with the physical game world, and it should be a thing.

I have many games I am no longer interested in that I would love to give away or gift, it's lame how content is locked.

Every time I see these stats, I'm amazed to see Stardew Valley so high in the list. A 7 years old one-developer game being the 4th most played among some of the biggest recent productions is an incredible achievement !

It's absolutely deserved, but still, wow !

I am playing moonring. Is sooo good!

Besides the usual games I love (EVE, 7Days, Elite, The Front until they broke it), I reinstalled and re-fell in love with an ancient masterpiece.

Unreal Tournament 2004 + ECE, native, fully working in 4K is absolutely perfect. Almost 20 years later, it's still pure bliss to play.

But it only deepened my love/hate relationship with Epic. The makers of the greatest 3D engine ever, yet an awful company for everything else.

Oh, and icculus/Ryan is godlike, like the bots I got all my trophies against.

Back to Valheim and Xenonauts 2, with a bit of playtesting of Cyber Knights Flashpoint. Once again turn based games with the deck's trackpads is a wonderfull combination. Really can't see why people want other handhelds without them.

Didn't manage to finish No Man's Sky latest expedition, so it's on hold till the next.
