Valve released a fresh Proton Experimental update for Steam Deck and Desktop Linux to finish up November so here's what's new and improved.
Newly playable as of this release is: Nonogram Nights.
And then the fixes:
- Previously in Proton Hotfix: Fixed Baldur's Gate 3 not starting after a recent game update.
- Applied Immortals of Aveum framerate fixes to the recently released demo of the game.
- Fixed font rendering in save / load dialog in Idle Spiral.
- Fixed periodic frame rate drops in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.
- Fixed Proton 8 regression: Improved load times in LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII.
- Fixed Proton Experimental regression: I Expect You To Die 2 renders correctly in right eye (VR).
- NVAPI was enabled for Satisfactory.
See the changelog here.
It will just show up in your Steam Downloads as an update for Proton Experimental, as Proton updates just like games do, so keep an eye out for it. Want more info about Steam Play and Proton? Check out my beginner's guide.

Now this worries me. It's been almost 2 years now and I don't see devs start caring about Steam Deck enough to even do a quick check to see whether an update breaks on it or not. A handful do, for sure, but generally they don't. They just ignore a bunch of their customers and leave it up to Valve to fix their mess.

If I remember correctly the bug was not present on the Steamdeck as it was related to the launcher that is skipped on it. So they probably tested it on the SD but not on a regular desktop, that would explain why it made it into the update
