If you're in the mood to try out an upcoming sci-fi 4x strategy game, look no further than the latest demo for ZEPHON. Arriving next year with Native Linux support, the latest from Proxy Studios (Pandora: First Contact, Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Relics of War) is looking pretty great.

The demo was updated late last month, and it's live until November 22nd. Expect bugs and issues since it's an in-development alpha version that is limited to single player against two opponents on a small map. The full version though will have "co-op and pvp multiplayer, larger maps, advanced world generation parameters, 8 leaders, 3 NPC factions, over 50 units spread across 10 tiers of research, more terrain features and quests, an end-game grand finale, unlockable game modifiers, achievements, multiple languages as well as full workshop support".

The biggest changes in this demo are the additions of the ZEPHON NPC faction, 2 new neutral units and 3 new quests.

No specific release date yet other than sometime in 2024.

This game looks way less cartoonish than Civ VI.
