Need a new puzzle game to add to your collection? Good news for you, as The Talos Principle 2 has now been bumped up to Steam Deck Verified status after testing from Valve.

Easily one of the best games of 2023. Much bigger and even more interesting than the first game, with plenty of new puzzle mechanics thrown in giving you a thought-provoking, character-driven interactive story with multiple endings. Initially Valve only gave it a Steam Deck Playable status, but multiple patches later and a re-test and now Valve have given it full seal of Verified approval. Works great on desktop Linux too with Proton 8!

The developers announced the status in a news post on Steam, along with giving details on an opt-in Beta that brings with it numerous enhancements like a benchmark mode, water ripples, extra lore content and various visual fixes, gameplay improvements, bug fixes, improvements to their shader system (including a progress bar for shaders precaching) and much more.

Players can now sprint when moving backwards.

At long last! I've always preferred games that let you do that (like Enemy Territory).

Highly recommend this title if you are at least slightly into puzzle games. In my opinion, it is even better than the already amazing prequel. Certainly a top title of 2023 with a ridiculous low price for this quality.
