Vintage Story is a brutal deep survival game that I just love to watch expand, because it's so filled full of content it's spilling over the sides. The latest release, v1.19.0 Dejank Redux brings in even more content.

When it comes to content additions there's 11 new species of deer, 11 types of goats, you can now catch animals with a basket, antlers and horns you can mount on walls, a rework of ruins, new accessibility settings, snowballs, more character customization options, tule and sedge plants, an overhauled first-person mode, a cave-in system when digging and so much more.

This game is really quite something, and pretty darn challenging too.

As usual, I'll have to comment that this game keeps getting better and better and better and better... and it was already amazing to start with. This update is no exception, so many more things to do!
11 different kinds of deer . . . you can tell this is made by people with a vision, not just grubbers for the bottom line.

It's one of those games i always plan to start playing again but never do...

The game itself is amazing! Loads of content, challenging, story is interesting, looks amazing even though it is just another block world but they somehow nailed it.
Yet, i feel the whole "the world is a staircase" is getting a bit old and is a bit offputting. Another huge issue is the combat mechanic, or the lack of it. Every encounter just feels dull and seems as if you are fighting with cardboard cutouts.

I really would love to play this but I would rather do it on Steam so I can invite my friends to play with me.

They have asked the community to vote on priorities often in the past, the combat update was always dead last at the bottom. Most players want more stuff to build, more heavy simulation stuff and some more story. A real combat update will come in time, but clearly it's not what the community wants short term.

Send them a message and go play together ? I’m an heavy Steam user for many years, but i never think there is ONLY Steam in my gamer’s life. Vintage Story is an amazing game, it seems a bit silly not to play it for such reasons. It’s not like it’s on an other EVILCORP system like Epic, it’s simply direct, straight, from devs, to players, and native Linux (i would understand the "need" for Proton, but here it’s not needed at all).

what a monster update... the map looks awesome, the animal models are great (the animal animations maybe could have used a few more frames but oh well), and as an connoisseur of video game rain I give the ambient sound update a thumbs up. Although it's a small change, making boars aggressive when they have young is a really nice touch, I love when devs add some dynamism to animal behaviour.
