Celebrating the ability to play games together wherever you are, Valve has launched the Steam Remote Play Together 2024 Fest. Giving you plenty of discounts on games you might want to pick up.

Remote Play is one of the sweetest features of Steam, although it doesn't always quite work right, when it does it opens up a lot more options. Streaming from one device to another for solo play, or the together part of it where you share  games with friends so they can join in from anywhere, which is especially good for co-op / multiplayer games that usually only support local play (and only the host needs to own the game!).

There's a lot that's discounted during this event, a bit of everything from AAA to tiny indies and everything in between. I don't actually play a lot of co-op games myself, but some fun titles to guarantee a good time with discounts include:

All of those are especially great games!

Are you going to be picking up anything? Let me know your best picks in the comments!

The event runs until February 19th at 10 AM PT / 6PM UTC. There's also some new entries in the Steam Points Shop.

Check out the event page on Steam.

Remote play together is great!
It's just a shame that it still often times doesn't really work right (for example missing sound) when hosted on a linux machine :/

It can be annoying but if you offer help on GitHub with logs, system information, additional debugging reports - things will get fixed more quickly.

I'm obligated to point out that the first Super Bomberman R (which, unlike R 2, has co-op for the story-mode) is in this sale for £13.99.

OK, here's some more I've found over the years, all great local MP experiences now on sale:

  • Death Road to Canada - 75% off - Deck Verified / Native Linux (4-player co-op!)

  • River City Girls - 50% off - Deck Verified / ProtonDB Gold (switch to v6.3-8; note the newer RCG games are on sale too!)

  • Wand Wars - 50% off - Deck Verified / Native Linux (magical lethal league, has 'Quidditch' and roguelike modes! Story is SP sadly)

  • Cook, Serve Delicious! games: 1, 2!! and 3?! - ALL 75% off - ALL Deck Verified / 1 & 2 are Native Linux, 3 has ProtonDB Gold (frantic but fantastic food prep, 2-player co-op. Each game places you in a different setting, no need to play them sequentially. Remake of 1 is in development!)
