Captain Contraption's Chocolate Factory releasing in July is an open ended puzzle game, where you design and build machines to combine ingredients to make chocolates. I'm getting a bit of a Zachtronics automation puzzle game vibe from this so it could be well worth a look.

The idea is to go through various levels to design an automated machine to produce tasty chocolate. Launch nuts into the air and combine them with chocolate, smash caramel against a wall to make bite size bits and of course there's all those E number food additives too to give your chocolates some colour. There's many solutions to each puzzle, and you get to go back and optimize your machine designs.

Have a look at their recent demo update teaser trailer:

The developer said it will include an easy to use level editor too, the same one they're using to make the game so you can make your own challenges with Steam Workshop support planned to be supported at launch.

Go check it out on Steam. It has a Native Linux demo available.

Finally a game with an objective I can really get behind.
And thankfully it's really a chocolate-factory experience, unlike the Glasgow Willy Wonka scam!

Seems like it might be a modern take on the the Incredible Machine series, which I've got a lot of fond memories from playing
