Polychroma Games and Maximum Entertainment have announced the cinematic narrative adventure Until Then is going to release on May 23rd.

More: "A fateful meeting sets off a chain reaction, upending Mark's life. People disappear and memories prove unreliable. Uncover a hidden truth with Mark and his friends in this narrative adventure and race to unravel the mystery before it's too late."

Check out the new trailer as this looks like something quite special:

I'm not entirely sure what to expect from that trailer, but overall it looks quite gorgeous. Almost Anime like in a way, and with the mix of perspectives here it will probably be quite interesting to play through.

Features:

  • Play out your own adventure.
  • Investigate the setting through everyday technology.
  • Explore themes of love, loss, and friendship.
  • Play addictively mundane mini-games.
  • Immerse yourself in a cinematic visual experience.
  • Experience a world inspired by Philippine locations and culture.

Great to see even more games made in the open source cross-platform Godot Engine getting a release!

You can follow it on the Steam page.

Seems really nice, altough too much "weavy motion" for me.
Is it just me, or have there been a lot of games lately about failing and reconstructing memory, mental trauma, stuff taking place inside the mind trying to put it back together and such like? And if so, is it just a kind of minitrend or does it say something about us as a society?

"Unfortunately" actual society implies minitrends and lack of originalty.

OK, point, but I was thinking more in terms of a fixation on mental illness.

These kind of games are definitely not the kind I gravitate towards, however every now and then, one shows up with a pacing and mood and style that gets my attention. Life is Strange was another. Nice that it has a demo, so I'll try it.
