Halo Infinite had an update that amongst other things added in Easy Anti-Cheat, which thankfully has been enabled so it still works on Linux Desktop and Steam Deck.
I've tested it myself with Proton Experimental (Desktop) and it does work, with EAC loading just fine and online play works without issues. Although some of the graphics look a bit broken with textures not correctly loading in the environment and on Spartan suits (#1, #2) on Mesa 24.0.3. So your mileage may vary there.
Other improvements in this update include:
- An overhauled network model, that should result in less rubberbanding movement, taking damage around corners, and other issues caused by becoming desynchronized with the multiplayer servers.
- A refresh of Squad Battles with new maps made by players using The Forge:

There's also:
- Various weapon balancing.
- The introduction of Firefight Custom, so modders can have even more fun creating things.
- Various improvements to Forge.

Play the multiplayer free on Steam.

Disclaimer: I have a problem and name of the problem is Halo Infinite, it is currently my 12 min addiction game.
It works really well on Linux. And yes, EAC announcement took me by surprise, however, same team have EAC enabled on Chief collection for Proton and it still works.
So yeah, played for 4 hours, can confirm, no issues. Can't say anything about improved network code, but it at least did not make my experience worse.

I've given up trying to play it and uninstalled. I also get the texture loading stuff, and performance on my RTX3060 is rubbish, even with lower settings.

The problem with halo infinite is that only controller works. I can't play it with M&K, which i vastly prefer over controller for games like these.
I have 350 hours in HI and I am playing with keyboard/mouse very effectively :)
