Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition lands on PC soon on March 21st, with Nixxes once again handling the porting of this previously PlayStation exclusive. The system requirements are also now up so we can see what to expect.

Interestingly, they clearly mentioned in the post on Steam that they've included various graphics presets to ensure the game runs on "a wide variety of PC hardware, including portable gaming devices". So, hopefully, this means it will actually run on Steam Deck. Although we're probably looking at 30FPS there. You'll want to ensure you've got plenty of space free too - at 150GB it's quite a big one. The previous game in the series did have quite a few rough spots on Steam Deck though.

As long as Valve get any fixes needed in Proton, at least Desktop Linux PC players shouldn't have much trouble with that. And with Proton 9.0 currently in progress hopefully it will be in a good state.

Plenty of PC features coming with it like ultrawide support, NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR and Intel XeSS.

The system requeriments are insane. The previous one run fine with wine on hight with my ryzen 1600x,16GB ram, linux and slow spinning hard drive.
Also 150GB? When it finishes downloading they will have the next game released already.

So close! Very much looking forward to this. Loved the first one, and it was absolutely gorgeous to play, so this should be even better. Looks like I'll be able to do "high" settings with good framerates, which is fine by me.

Will give it a go if they bring it to GOG. I picked up H:ZD to test my (then) new GPU, and I rather liked how simple and streamlined it was. To quote Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: “Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” And I think there wasn't much you could have cut from the game and still have a game.

I fear the sequel may have added features on top that break that simplicity, but if they kept most of the formula intact, I guess it should not ruin the overall experience. And the visuals surely do look nice again!

This! I'm not a fan of busywork in modern grindfests, too.

I've been enjoying the first game on the Deck recently, so I'll probably pick up the sequel. By the time it hits the discount milestone for the level of Linux support, I might have a Deck 2 to play it on. Or I might have replaced my broken GPU & just stream it from my desktop if performance on the Deck isn't good enough.
