After a interesting take on the strategy management sim? Taking a heavy dose of inspiration and naming from the very popular Mini Metro and Mini Motorways, a completely different developer is doing their take with Mini Airways. CCC Games are clearly big fans of the work from Dinosaur Polo Club.
It's a real-time management game with an air traffic control theme, as you continually expand and things can get a little busy with tons of planes taking off, landing and hopefully not crashing into each other. Actually seems like quite a nice take on it, and the developer recently added Native Linux support to the demo.

They might need to work on the English text a little, but hey at least with a demo you can provide some feedback on that.
Check it out on Steam now. It's due to release sometime in Q3 this year.
Quoting: scaineThat's incredibly naff though, isn't it? Emulating a developer's style and releasing a game that was probably on the original developer's backlog anyway? Feels like their "All Quiet Roads" controversy all over again. While the naming I can agree to an extend is a bit naughty pinching on a clear scheme from the other developer, the gameplay mechanics in a different setting are pretty fair game - mechanically it looks quite unique in how it works.
Edit: reading up more on it, the developers Dinosaur Polo Club even apologised on their reaction to All Quiet Roads.

Quoting: Liam DaweEdit: reading up more on it, the developers Dinosaur Polo Club even apologised on their reaction to All Quiet Roads.Yeah, they felt pretty bad about how they handled. It felt like a heartfelt apology. It's just odd that they're seeing another developer step into their space.
And you're right, I wouldn't object to the game at all, but calling it Mini Airways, whilst playing off that simplistic visual style is what is tipping me over the edge. This isn't inspiration, it's blatant plagiarism, I think.
Quoting: PinguinoI was interested at first, but just watching the video got me so stressed I'm probably better off steering clear of this one.Actual gameplay is a bit hard to read from the video, but I get the same impression.
The great thing about Mini Motorways is that you can pause any time you want, add or modify your streets, then resume and see things unfold. While traffic inevitably will collapse, until it does the game can be such a chill experience, with an equally chill and calming soundscape. And at the same time it's also highly addictive ... one of the "just one more round" variety.
