The number of times "playable again" shows up on Proton release changelogs is a bit worrisome..To be fair, this is the beta of the new upcoming version. It would be a bigger problem if new point releases of the stable version showed a lot of that. Well, for all I know maybe they do.

By its very nature, Wine always has and always will need to play catch-up. It really is just a matter of how long it takes until it catches up.
Back in the day, if a game broke and it wasn't popular enough, it might sit for years without working again. At least for the time being, games are usually fixed within hours or days instead of months or years.

Good see Command & Conquer Red Alert working again. I have been playing C&C Red Alert (REMASTERED VERSION) and I have to go back a couple version of Proton to be able to play it at all.
