Hyperspace Deck Command is the next game in the Hyperspace Anthology from Sleeper Games that includes their two previous games Swirl W@tch and ---Red---Tether-->.

It's a a sci-fi card-battler deck-building roguelite where you deploy spaceships that operate on individual turn timers, combine a wide variety of cards into powerful decks and master the dual-use status effects to defeat the hegemonising swarm.

Speaking about the demo the developer said via email:

In the demo you can fight your way through 5 different simulation encounters using a randomized starter deck, with units that operate on individual turn timers and tech that works differently depending on if you play it against allies or enemies. To beat the final endurance battle you will need a powerful fleet and proper mastery of the game’s dual-use status effect system.

In the full game you will also be able to build widely different decks by combine ships and technologies of various factions. And you will explore remote star systems to uncover cards, upgrades and increasingly harsh enemy encounters.

Features:

  • Protect your fabricator megaship from waves of advancing enemies in tactical, card-based combat.
  • Deploy and move your space forces across multiple orbital lanes.
  • Use high-tech ability cards to support your vessels in battle.
  • Carefully consider your actions: Units operate on individual turn timers and every card you play brings them closer to carrying out their next attack run.
  • Combine dozens of possible fabricators, deck commanders, randomly generated flagships and auxiliary vessels into thousands of possible starting decks.
  • Modify individual cards with stackable upgrades or augment your entire fleet with powerful artifact tech.
  • Explore star systems to collect new ships and technology cards.

It's planned to release in full later this year.

You can find the demo on Steam. It has Native Linux support.
