Hardware vendor and Pop!_OS Linux developers System76 have revealed a fresh upgrade for their ultraportable laptop, the Lemur Pro. Plus, they have a big desktop sale now on.
For the Lemur Pro laptop you'll get a choice between the Intel Core Ultra 5 125U or the Intel Core Ultra 7 155U, along with a 100% sRGB colour range 4.0” FHD+ (1920x1200) 16:10 screen. Starting at $1,399 you'll get 8GB DDR5 4800 Mhz RAM (up to 56GB), a 500GB PCIe4 M.2 SSD (up to 4TB x 2). System76 also said it has a new set of quality speakers, with up to 14 hours battery life.
It comes with plenty of connectivity too with 1× Thunderbolt 4 w/ PD, 1× USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C w/ PD, 1× USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, 1× USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A and a MicroSD Card Reader.
Their Pangolin, a cheaper AMD model at $1,299 was also upgraded to a 16.1″ 1920×1080 FHD display, with a battery giving you up to 10 hours life. On top of that they've also said the Darter Pro model is getting a 14th Gen Intel CPU (Core Ultra H-class) refresh soon as well.
Looking for a Linux desktop instead? Good news there too. System76 have launched their Spring Desktop Sale where you can save up to either $100 or $300 on their Thelio units depending on the model. Additionally, Intel's new 6.2 GHz, Core i9 14900HX processor is now available in Thelio Mira if you need more power.
They also teased on Mastodon "Some BIG announcements incoming over the next few weeks. Stay tuned...", so I wonder what that could be. Exciting.
