Albion Online the MMO from Sandbox Interactive has now formally opened the gates for Europe and MENA (Middle East and North Africa) with their brand new server.
This will give players in those regions "substantially improved ping" the developers say, along with a fresh start for everyone playing on them. This is the third server introduced to the game alongside Albion Americas and Albion Asia, although the new one does have certain initial restrictions for now.
Albion Online is a sandbox MMORPG featuring full-loot combat, a fully player-driven economy, and a classless "you are what you wear" skill system. The game is fully cross-platform, playable across Linux, macOS, Windows, iOS and Android with a single account.

New Server Features:
- A new and untouched version of the game, where all players start as equals and can claim their own piece of Albion.
- A game world that is fully separate and independent from the existing US and Asia servers.
- Greatly improved connection speeds and ping for the whole Europe and MENA region.
- Timings of game and server events (territory battles, Crystal League, Faction Warfare, maintenance, etc.) that are optimized for the region.
The event timing is a big one. For players in Europe / UK the timings on events in this and other games always being Americanised gets quite annoying. So now you'll be able to do them on your own time, which is probably the most exciting thing about this.
Albion Online has Native Linux support and is rated Steam Deck Playable.
So, nice game, well thought out, but unless you're willing to become part of a guild and group up with warrior players for protection, crafting will end quite suddenly.
Which I wouldn't mind too much if there was decent PvE, but years after launch, the PvE was still crap. So much potential, but for solo players, look elsewhere.
