Finally! Valheim is getting close to the release of the big Ashlands update, and now you can go and actually test it.
What can you expect from it? Well there is of course the entirely new Ashlands biome! Along with that there's over 30 new weapons, new bombs and ammunition, 3 new armour sets, 2 new capes, over 10 new creatures, over 70 new building items, 5 new crafting station upgrades, over 30 new crafting materials, over 15 new food items and potions, new locations, new music, new events and new game mechanics.
So quite a lot basically. Check out the trailer:

I probably won't be playing until my modest set of mods get updated but looking forward to it all the same.
I have touched the (ashlands) coastline briefly in my exploration but not enough to warrant starting a new world. When it's out of early access I'll start a new world from scratch.

Ashlands . . . new game mechanics . . . I wonder if they'll be for asthma and emphysema?

It's really nice to see they're filling in so much content, although I'll almost certainly never get to see it.
I doubt I'd be able to muster the skill and tenacity to get all the way to the Ashlands. Hell, I haven't even been past the swamps. So this stuff might as well be a whole other game.
Really hoping at some point they'll get all the late game stuff finished so they can loop back and make the early game more engaging and improve quality of life for the lesser Vikings among us.
