While Nintendo took down the Nintendo Switch emulator yuzu, the collateral damage was the Nintendo 3DS emulator Citra which was also taken offline but Lemonade is an attempt to keep it going.
They don't directly mention Citra, probably through fear of it getting nuked from orbit and instead refer to it as the original "base" as mentioned on their website: "Lemonade was started after the base, a previous Nintendo 3ds emulator, was discontinued. The Lemonade Project was created to continue the work of base, fixing its issues and improving its performance and compatibility."
Most recently the Lemonade project put out a second initial release which had initial support for Linux, macOS and Windows along with cleaning up a few issues. The Linux version is available as an easy AppImage.
There will no doubt be others that attempt to continue Citra, just like there's multiple that are currently trying to continue yuzu like suyu, although suyu already had an issue where GitLab took it down so now they self-host their own Git for it.
Perhaps this one will stick around, maybe it won't, but for now it may be worth keeping an eye on it you're an emulation fan wanting to play some classic Nintendo 3DS games.

Quoting: GuestLiam, stop reporting on these things. You do such a good job that I'm certain Nintendo checks here to find their next target. :-)Make no mistake, they do. They also claim not to keep tabs on fan discourse surrounding their games, but they're known to do that too. Ex-staff from their co-owned Pokemon holding company admit to this.

I'm imagining these people at the company busily stuffing Pokemon into balls.
Quoting: Purple Library GuyPokemon holding company?!HAHAHAHA! Alas, it's not that interesting - it's just that The Pokemon Company is co-owned by Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures Inc.. I do like your more fanciful depiction, however, especially considering how they treat both franchise and fandom - let's just go with that.
