I know I'm going to be suckered into PAC-MAN Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs when it releases on May 8th, after previously being a Stadia exclusive. Good to see more ex-Stadia games actually come to PC properly like this. Although, the press releases said May 9th, but Steam say May 8th so the Steam date might change.

After playing it myself on Stadia, before Google hit the dreaded killswitch, it actually was genuinely good fun. And unless they do something ridiculous with it, no doubt it will work really well with Proton on Steam Deck and Desktop Linux.

This is no normal PAC-MAN, it's a battle royale styled game with 64-player battles and various colourful connected mazes.

From the press release:

Ready to welcome players of varying skill levels, game modes include Elimination Mode with arcade-style action where players of any rank can compete and earn Tokens to redeem on customisation items, and Ranked Mode where players battle against similarly skilled opponents from around the world and gain Rank XP earning their place on the leaderboards.

PAC-MAN MEGA TUNNEL BATTLE: CHOMP CHAMPS includes a Friend system that lets players drop into the same match with friends, track progress, and spectate the action when their friends – or foes – are playing the game.

It has cross-platform multiplayer too, so finding a game with friends shouldn't be an issue.

Quoting: hardpenguinpacman with particle effects when
I think this might be the one you want.
256 has lots of partical effects, made by the people who created crossy roads, and had a native linux port that's worked on a modern ubutnu distro for me out the box

Pacman 256 is a fun little take on the pacman formula with some nice voxel looking graphics to go with it

Long live the pacman, for he is a legend
