Noita is something really special, a roguelite game where every pixel is physically simulated and it's easily one of the best games ever made. It's grown again with another big free upgrade out with the Noita Epilogue 2 Update.

Here you get to fight, explore, melt, burn, freeze and evaporate your way through the procedurally generated world using spells you've created yourself thanks to numerous crazy wands. Explore a variety of environments ranging from coal mines to freezing wastelands while delving deeper in search for unknown mysteries. The interactivity at play with all the individual pixels in Noita always amazes me.

Yes I was on fire on the above screenshot, and the fire was burning every damn pixel around the level exit. Woops. Had to wait a bit on that one. Or I could have found a little pool, or covered myself in blood pixels from enemies. You know, something to put my flames out. Look, you never know what's going to happen, it's such a dynamic game.

So what's the new update all about? Well it adds in a whole bunch of new spells to add to your wands including some secret spells, 6 new enemies to tear into pixels, new chemical reactions (oh boy), new potion reactions, 3 new boss fights, a utility box item, new rare materials, a new easter egg, a new secret quest, a new small biome, new additional audio added in, various fixes for when you move really fast, lots of bug fixes and lots of improvements for modders. Plus more in the changelog.

It's Steam Deck Verified and works great on Desktop Linux with Proton. Noita is absolutely not to be slept on.

I've got a few mods for Noita I've been meaning to update for…huh, a few years now. Maybe I should get around to doing that while I wait for mods to get updated for the RimWorld release tomorro…

It does get easier as you become more familiar with both the enemies and the OP wands you can build. I have about a 1 in 4 win rate these days. But yep, it's an unforgiving game, for sure. But there's just so much to it, it's incredible value if you cross that threshold from frustration to fun.
