Inspired by classics like Heroes of Might and Magic, developers Oxymoron Games (Project Hospital) have revealed their sci-fi strategy game Silence of the Siren has a fresh upgraded demo and release date. It will have full Native Linux support, which the demo already has ready for you to test.
The new plan is to release into Early Access on September 30th. The developer told me the updated demo has "a new map with a bit of story-driven gameplay, a new orbital layer and the usual dose of base building, exploration and tactical battles".
More about it:
Silence of the Siren is a turn-based strategy game in which you will be thrown into a chaotic universe where several space-faring civilizations are fighting over control of a distant star system and trying to discover its dark history. Explore different planets, gather resources to expand your bases, raise an army and defeat your opponents!
- Explore a rich sci-fi world and discover secrets of a lost civilization.
- Collect powerful artifacts, secure important resources, upgrade your bases, hire different units and build useful structures on the world map.
- Level-up your commanders and crush your opponents in exciting turn-based battles.
- Take control over several different species and factions.
- Old-school strategy game with modern controls and intuitive UI.
The developer sent over a key, so I'll be taking a proper look for the release.

While it has Native Linux support and looks good on desktop PCs, it's not quite ready for Steam Deck just yet. The developer mentioned it's already playable but they plan to improve things like different text sizes. The Steam Deck improvements may not be ready for Early Access but it will get there eventually.
