Always great to see an RTS classic get revived. Age of Mythology: Retold from publisher Xbox Game Studios will be coming to Steam on September 4th.
From the creators of the award-winning Age of Empires franchise, Age of Mythology: Retold goes beyond history to a mythical age where gods, monsters, and humans collide. As a huge fan of classic RTS games, and someone who actually entirely missed the original (too busy with Age of Empires), I can't wait.

It's available for pre-purchase on Steam now. If you own Age of Mythology: Extended Edition on Steam, you also get a discount which is nice to see. They're also doing 7 days Advanced Access for the Premium Edition.
Really nice to see Microsoft doing so many more PC releases, especially on Steam too, making it super-simple to play games like this on Linux thanks to Valve's effort with Proton.
The extended edition is already fine. It is not even like this looks particularly good from the trailer, not that this is that important for this kind of game.
Like -- grow up -- these kinds of first person cinematic in video game trailers were attractive in the 2000s because cinematic were ___impressive___ ___difficult to do___ and ___scarce___.
They are not the attractive marketing tools they used to be. Now they completely misrepresent the experience and only serve to confuse.
What are they even trying to get me to buy? Someone needs to fire marketing.
